Hyaluronic acid

Jawline (Texas)

The jawline shapes the lower face and the profile. A dense hyaluronic acid, placed by cannula along the edge of the jaw and at its angle, sharpens its contour — to give structure to a profile, correct an asymmetry, or support a lower face that is starting to slacken. The design follows the proportions of each face: the line sought is not the same in a woman and in a man. The limit is clear: this procedure does not replace a facelift. It suits slight laxity, not marked laxity — in which case the examination points towards other options, up to and including surgery.

Duration
20 to 30 min
Protocol
1 session, check-up at 15 days

Indications

  • A soft jaw angle
  • A profile lacking structure
  • Early slackening along the jaw
  • Asymmetry of the lower face

How it goes

  1. The initial consultation

Examination, discussion of your request, screening for contraindications and a written plan. No procedure is carried out on the day of the first consultation: the time to think it over is yours.

  2. The session

Make-up removal, disinfection and a numbing cream. Injection is by fine needle or cannula depending on the area, in small controlled amounts, sitting you up regularly to judge the effect.

  3. The following days

Swelling and small bruises are common for a few days. Sport, saunas, hammams and sun exposure are best avoided for 48 hours. A check-up is offered at fifteen days, once the product has settled.

Frequently asked questions

Is it painful?

A numbing cream is applied beforehand and most products contain a local anaesthetic. The sensation is most often described as pressure, sometimes a brief sting.

Are there contraindications?

Pregnancy, breastfeeding, an active skin infection, some autoimmune conditions and certain medications are among them. They are checked in consultation, not ticked on a form — and they can lead to a refusal.

What result can I expect?

No result can be guaranteed: it depends on your skin, your age, your lifestyle and the indication retained. What can be stated is what the procedure aims at and what it does not do. The rest is discussed in consultation, in front of your face rather than a photograph.
