Preparing for a botulinum toxin (Botox) injection
A short session, but one that is prepared for. What is asked beforehand, what the consultation checks, and what the following days look like.
Botulinum toxin
Excessive sweating is not a comfort issue but a daily one: clothing, handshakes, working life. The injection reduces the activity of the sweat glands in the treated area for several months. It is a medical indication, examined as such.
Examination, discussion of your request, screening for contraindications and a written plan. No procedure is carried out on the day of the first consultation: the time to think it over is yours.
The face is observed at rest and then in movement: smiling, frowning, raising the eyebrows. It is this reading, not a standard grid, that determines the injection points and doses.
Nothing is visible immediately. The effect appears around the third day and settles over a fortnight. It then fades gradually: no decision here is irreversible.
A numbing cream is applied beforehand and most products contain a local anaesthetic. The sensation is most often described as pressure, sometimes a brief sting.
It is a matter of dose and chosen points. The aim here is to soften a line without removing expression: we prefer to start light and top up at fifteen days rather than the reverse — an excess can only be corrected by waiting.
Pregnancy, breastfeeding, an active skin infection, some autoimmune conditions and certain medications are among them. They are checked in consultation, not ticked on a form — and they can lead to a refusal.
Getting ready
What is asked before the session, what to tell us, and what the aftermath looks like.

This page is informative. It does not replace a medical consultation and is not a promise of results: outcomes and suitability depend on each person.
Keep going

Softening lines on the forehead, between the brows and around the eyes, without freezing expression.
The initial consultation examines, explains and proposes a written plan. It commits you to nothing.
