Technical medical procedures

Procedures that only the doctor performs, and that belong to no other family in the catalogue. They are first and foremost corrective — dissolving hyaluronic acid, managing a complication — and are always decided after examination.

Preparing a hyaluronic acid injection

This family brings together medical procedures that have no place elsewhere: they do not aim to enhance, they correct. They always begin with a diagnosis — what was injected, where, when, and what is happening now — before any decision.

The main one today is hyaluronidase, the enzyme that dissolves hyaluronic acid. It can correct product that is excessive, misplaced or simply unwanted, including when it was injected elsewhere. The name of the product then matters: the enzyme acts only on hyaluronic acid, not on other fillers. The procedure follows the same rules as an injection — an allergy test, gradual dosing, often several sessions.

Some of these procedures are emergencies. A vascular complication after a filler — pain that increases instead of easing, skin that blanches or becomes mottled, a visual disturbance — requires immediate care: call the practice without waiting until the next day, or go to the emergency department if there is no answer, wherever the injection was performed.
