Preparing for a laser hair removal session
The laser targets the hair, so the hair must stay in place and the skin out of the sun. What to prepare weeks before the session, and what to watch for afterwards.

Preparing your appointment
The gentlest treatment on this list, and the only one you can have before going out. What to stop nonetheless, and what it does not replace.
A medical facial cleanses, gently exfoliates and deeply hydrates. It is not invasive, requires no social downtime, and is the only one in this series you can schedule the day before an event.
Forty-five minutes to an hour, painless. The skin comes out clear and supple; the glow lasts a few days, and the treatment is repeated as maintenance.
Stop retinoids, fruit acids and scrubs 72 hours beforehand: layered on top of the treatment’s own exfoliation, they irritate. No facial waxing within three days.
Come without make-up if you can. If you have had injections recently, say so: we usually wait two weeks.
Inflammatory acne flare-up, active herpes, severe rosacea, recent sunburn, or a known allergy to the acids used. The treatment is gentle, but it is not harmless on already irritated skin.
Cleansing, exfoliation, gentle suction extraction of blackheads, then serums matched to your skin. Each step is explained as it happens.
Slight redness is possible for an hour. Resume your usual actives — retinoids, vitamin C — after 48 hours, not before. Sun protection the next day, as always.
This treatment maintains the skin; it treats neither an established wrinkle nor a deep pigment spot. Confusing the two leads to expectations the procedure cannot meet.
Call if redness persists beyond twenty-four hours, if numerous spots appear, or if a burning sensation sets in.
None of the above replaces the prior consultation: it alone says whether this procedure is right for you, and on what terms.
This text is informative. It does not replace a medical consultation and is not a promise of results.

A tattoo fades over several sessions, and its complete disappearance can never be promised. What the examination decides, what to prepare, and how to care for the skin afterwards.
